In partnership with the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, Project Extra Mile coordinates a two-day training for law enforcement officers and prosecutors focused on youth alcohol enforcement operations. A team of eight law enforcement officers has been trained through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center. The youth alcohol enforcement training topics include:
- Criminal and administrative law overview
- Party prevention and controlled party dispersal
- Enforcement in rural communities
- Fake IDs
- Third party transactions and source investigations
- Conducting compliance checks
- Managing special events
- Importance of community support for enforcement efforts
There is no registration fee for the training, and those interested may contact Project Extra Mile at (402) 963-9047 or via e-mail at info@projectextramile.org for more information.
